ºÚÁÏÉçÇø

I have over 20 years’ experience in adult acute/critical care and community nursing. After training as an adult nurse in Edinburgh from 1997, I moved to London and worked in critical care and theatres at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital. On returning home I worked for many years in general intensive care and postoperative recovery at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh, undertaking adult nurse specialist training in 2003. In 2011, I graduated from ºÚÁÏÉçÇø as a Specialist Community Public Health Nurse â€“ Health Visitor and have held caseloads across various areas within NHS Lothian, including areas of significant deprivation. 

I have had a long-standing interest in nurse education and was part of the clinical education team establishing training for the new recovery department at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh from 2003. In 2015 I became a Specialist Practice Supervisor for the SCPHN PGDip programme at QMU, supporting clinical education for trainee health visitors. I was involved in the development and delivery of NHS Lothian’s post-registration preceptorship programme for newly qualified SCPHNs.

In January 2021 I was delighted to join the ºÚÁÏÉçÇø undergraduate nursing programme team. My teaching interests include biosciences, neurobiology and social development, and public health.
